That was the issue. I just needed to triangulate my mesh in modo and
the collada files import to Prefab3D with no issues.
Good to hear, The problem is that the app has for now check on this...
may something to implement later on...
so that at least a warning can be triggered. You might in the future
see one of these. I have already implemented many checks on integrity
of the loaded meshes.
Great work on this by the way! It's a great tool.
Thx, I just hope many will discover its more than just a model viewer.
I've found some of the demo videos and intro video, which are very
nice. Do you plan on releasing anymore tutorials? For instance, on
exporting to AS3 on how this can integrate into a flash project?
yes, thats the plan. But right now, I have to make sure everything
runs fine. And I'm focussing on this right now.
so hit the check update btn once in a while.
Tutorials, and more examples should follow soon.
To export to as3 its very easy. Drop you model, play with lights or
not, Select: export to as3 :))
the class you save somewhere with a name you give
To avoid conlfict the app exports within a folder
so if you move the entire content in a folder with same name as the
packagename you set or not in the app
and put it where you have set your class path say "myclasses"
you just have to type "import mypackage.MyClassName"
do your away code as usual and add
view.scene.addChild(new MyClassName());
and instantly you have once compiled the same object(s) you have
exported in your swf. no loading blues,
the class takes care of all the embeds of the prebaked renderings.
One shadow on this system tho, the embed tag doesn't know anything
about compression like in the Flash IDE.
Here's one smart solution from Joa to this problem.

do you have some "triangulate" in Modo, you could try just before
export as collada?
btw, Prefab was updated for small details, check update 1.032
Since you are using the uv mapper,
I'm almost done with some extra rescale frame on actual selection...
should ease remap a bit more.
I hope get it done before FOTB... otherwize next week...
Mac users
Looks like there are some issues with AIR or my code on snow
leopard...

Oh, I'm sorry, that would be important. The app I am using is
modo. I
have been able to import .obj into Prefab3D with no issues.
I would like to use Maya for my collada export, but I have
upgraded to
Maya 2010 and can't find a collada plugin for that version.
It looks to me like the problem is the export from modo.

Hey,
I am trying to use Prefab3D and I keep getting the same error
when I
try and import my collada files. Here is a screen shot of the
problem
with a simple primitive exported from my 3D app.
