Simplify your models if possible. Flash engines are still only a
little more advanced than Nintendo 64's when it comes to polygon
count.
Billboarding helps a lot as well, if you're able to use raster
graphics as fake 3D objects. Although in your case that would mean
camera constraints, so your best solution is to find or create simpler
models. If you view in wireframe mode, the fewer the lines, the faster
your project will run.
