hi guys,

i'm just started experimenting with away3d after pv3d "failed" for
that what i want to accomplish: a white shiny material.
i've seen some away3d stuff where the objects caused that little glow,
so they really look "shiny" (let's say like the mightmouse white
material, or ivory).

for testing i used a phongMovieMaterial (material needs to be a
movieclip/sprite) with specular and shininess properties set and the
directionallight. this already looks quite good but having those
examples i've seen in mind (can't remember where, sorry) i guess
there's some way to tune it more.

i also tried the whiteshadingbitmapmaterial but compared with the
phongmaterial it was to pixelated (even when smoothing set).

actually i haven't used a shader by now because it looks away3d takes
the stage maincolor by default when no shader i set?

to make it short: i'm looking for some examples to render a white
movieclip material (textfield on it) on a white (maybe little
gradient) background that causes "that" shininess effect (like the
mightymouse and other apple products have :) ... maybe i'm just
missing some basic shader examples? is there some demo that shows all
available shaders on all available materials somehwere?

thanks, best: lars
