Hi, Most of the answer is in your question: "Can I know what is the advantage of using the template class over just creating the entire scene by yourself? "
The templates allows me to get up and running with an Away3DLite scene in seconds. I simply extend the BasicTemplate class and bam! Done. Now I can focus on other things, like adding models, interactions, etc... I use it all the time and it's flexible enough to meet most of my projects needs. It provides start and stop functions for rendering and a set of protected functions to override so that you can run your own code on init, pre render, post render, etc...If need a specific configurations, I setup my own base scene class but it is very similar to the Template. Performance and rendering quality depend on what is outside the template. The code quality of the classes themselves?... Well, it's from the guys that are developing Away3D! Enough said, no? ath Jerome. To unsubscribe from this group, send email to away3d-dev+unsubscribegooglegroups.com or reply to this email with the words "REMOVE ME" as the subject.
