OK I admit defeat.

I thought I knew what I was doing but seem to have got lost in a mess
of matrix multiplications.

What I need to do is take an object3D in an Away3DLite scene and place
it within a container3D that has been rotated within that scene. I
need the object to keep it's scene position when added to the
container but obviously it needs to transform to do so.

Hope this makes sense. Essentially this is global to local 3d, and the
reverse - local to global 3d within Away3DLite.
