It is trig math stuff . There must be dependency of angle transformations
and coords translations  between the adjacent planes . There are formulas
for this kind of kinematics . This mechanism has the same concept as bones
skeleton transformations, but a little simpler . If you can find a
book by *Keith
Peters "ActionsScript animation"* , there he explains how to code such a
stuff in 2d but to port it to 3D is straighforward.
