@John Only the Lite version is fully optimized. The main engine will probably get that for v4.0.
@harilal I'm definitely colored as well but I forced myself to use Papervision on a couple commercial projects and I have to say it's quite unfinished as an API. Many methods I wanted to use had no effect since they were not implemented, there were memory leaks and you couldn't update primitives after they had been created. Away3d fixes all of this. Your main reason for going with Away3d should however be the one Fabrice mentioned. There has not been any updates to Papervision 2 in two years. If you take a look at the Away3d blog on http://away3d.com, you'll see that new features and bug fixes are added constantly.
