What's the proper way to determine which materials are affected by
which lights?  It's not clear to me by looking at the source for each
material.  Some indicate which lights affect them in their
updateMaterial() function, but most don't.  What's the most accurate
and quickest way to find out, without trial and error?

Also, are all the materials listed in the materials directory in the
source "current".  By that I mean have some of the supported materials
been made obsolete by more recent materials?  I don't want to spend
time learning something that is inefficient or unsupported.
