There is no good, easy way to trim down that house, unless you are, or know a great 3d modeller and have a hour or two to spend doing it .
A cube will be 12 polys only, especially if you use the Flash 10 version of away3d, otherwise if using Flash 9 then you'll need some more polys so the cube doesn't distort too much. In general, try to keep the onscreen rendered polys to 1,000 or less for faster performance.
