Are we really sure this doesn't have to do anything with it? What do you mean with "really awful flickering when redrawing windows"? How do you make those windows redraw themselves? I'm 90% sure that awesome doesn't have anything to do with windows redrawing themselves. For the taskbar: Do you happen to be using any transparency anywhere? Because that really looks like transparently painting stuff on top of other stuff... Oh and could you attach your config so we can test this ourselves?
