His reply talks about size hints (which awesome honors by default) while the reporter has a bug with argb visuals. I guess every non-reparenting WM out there has a similar problem. On the wmii patch: Urgh. What a stupid idea. :-( Yes, it papers over the problem, but I wouldn't call that a fix. That completely ignores the visual. I don't want to reopen this bug (but I do disagree with jd, this bug is a valid problem with the WM expecting the default visual).
