Hello list

With this email I would like to congratulate all awesome developers and contributors!

I have passed from several tiling managers (wmii, xmonad, ion, dwm e.t.c) and awesome was
the first one that "made sense" right from the beginning.

I am using awesome as it comes with Debian Sid with absolutely no modification at all. I was thrilled to see that finally the windows key (mod4) is the default for window operations. With all other wms mentioned I had to go to the documentation and remap the alt key to mod-4 before starting doing serious work.

But all other details of awesome are also astonishing. The predefined views, the built-in systray, the menu, the layouts, the run-command... Sensible defaults are most times missing in open source software, requiring heavy customization from the user.

I do not have any problem/issue at all with awesome. My only request is to keep it as it is (lightweight and fast) instead of going to the familiar lane of adding (just) one more feature and ending up with a huge beast (see wmii vs dwm).

Keep up the good work!
