So there are some programs that takes a common argument for setting workspace? Perhaps like the classic geometry -g of X? But yeah, I cant remember having seen that. Maybe it's rather a function on the X protocol level or so? Something like that would indeed be very useful, and solve all this. Presently the program I'm most interested in re-starting is zathura, which I sometimes have littered all over my desktops, displaying various pdfs.
