7171412: awt Choice doesn't fire ItemStateChange when selecting item after select() call - verified on JRE8-EA

I loaded the Nov 15th Early Access for JRE 8 and confirmed the fix against my 
test case.  Everything is working as expected: event fires on change, event 
does NOT fire when selecting the same item.
 
Are there plans (please?) to back port 7171412 to the jdk7u branch?
