I would like to se my build changes go out as part of the official 1.0
release, so an RC2 which contains them is preferrable to me

The goal of the rc2 release is simply to package up all of the fixes
made since the rc1 release in a form convenient and conducive for a
wider audience to test and provide feedback on.  As such, there are no
list of "must fix bugs" for this particular release.

The plan is to cut a branch for this release late Sunday night, and to
build a release from that branch, preferably on Monday morning.  Bug
reports for this release are to posted to bugzilla, specifying "1.0-rc2"
as the version.

I'll volunteer to be the release manager for this release.
