I looked at WebLogic Workshop last week and found that:

1) It cant handle multirefs
2) the .jws are not portable, and the use of custom javadoc tags is a
mistake I thing - better to declare in a config file surely?
3) It does not appear to have any concept of Handler Chains a la Axis and
JAX-RPC
4) It requires public members in Complex types for section 5 encoding,
breaking the Bean Serialization 'standard'.

On the plus side
1)It looks nice
2)Easy for beginner java developers to get a grip on
3)The Conversation stuff looks interesting

My 2 penneth

Hi !

If you by force, means that it aint possible to create web services with
"ordinary" java classes in web logic 7.0, that's not quite correct. I have
made a really stupid Java class and published it as a web service. It was
pretty straightforward.

I haven't tried to develop a more complex class structure and that might be
more difficult.

Here's one reason not to use the BEA implementation. I think they force you
to implement your web services using either stateless session beans or JMS.
With Axis your web services can be implemented with "ordinary" Java classes.

Why do you use Axis if you have BEA Weblogic 7.0 ?
BEA has his own implementation of SOAP, I thought... (And its REALLY easy
to use)

I have a BEA Web Service that uses Conversations (their concept of
Sessions) and it generates the WSDL at the bottom of this message, it is
long I know, but what I'm interested in is figuring out what this error
  is about:

This request doesn't conform to the target service/method's
  requirements
