I'm serving more (circa 5 million served by AxKit only) with smaller hardware 
and I'm not reaching 20% of the load, except on rare occasions. It shouldn't 
be a problem (so long as you have caching where you need it)

Then that's precisely what AxAddOutputTransformer will do for you. AxKit 
grabs from cache if cache exists, and feeds it through your OutputTransformer 
sub.
