I am not an XML guru too ;). But IMHO encodings has to match. Moreover I've noticed
from the log you have supplied that
you use Sablotron. It is highly recommended to switch to libxslt/libxml2 because they
are faster and more compliant. It is possible
that Sablotron knows nothing about UTF-16.
