I've been doing this for a year so that each developer in our team could have 
their own server to test with, all hosted on one system to simplify 
maintenance. It works great. I can supply you with relevant snippets of 
Apache httpd.conf code if you want, but basically its Mandrake 'Advanced 
Extranet Server' which is a pretty decent implementation of the concept.
