When you say that you "don't feel like *fixing* redhat 9", I'm assuming
that you mean their Perl and/or Apache packages.  If so, then it has
been my experience that NONE of the Linux distributions get it right
and you're much better off rolling your own (for both Perl and Apache)
... especially if you're going to use mod_perl (which I'll also assume,
since we are talking AxKit here).

With that said, if you're familiar with Redhat and how to maintain the
box then stick with that... and build Perl/Apache/mod_perl from scratch.
