I just spoke to my father-in-law in New Bedford. It sounds like we are talking about two different Ice Cream stands. Salvador's on Smith Neck Rd is still there. My wife actually worked years ago with I believe a cousin of yours Beth. My father-in-law thinks her name was Carol Brasells. She and her mother had bought Salvador's but have since sold it.
The other dairy stand was the Gulf Hill Dairy which he said was moved to the landing and also has ice cream and he believes some kind of museum like Joanne had mentioned. It is good to know another location for Ice Cream :-) Steven I just found this when I googled Salvador's.
