Manuel son of Jose da Silva born in the Parish of Sao Roque, Rosto do Cao and Maria Ricarda born in the this Parish of Sao Pedro of this city (Ponta Delgada) paternal grandson of Antonio da Silva and Maria Francisca and maternal grandson of Pedro Carvalho and Francisca Maria. Born on 27 July 1826 and baptized on 7 August of the same year in this Church of the Apostle Sao Pedro of this city and Parish of his parents by me Jose Ignacio da Silva Pacheco curate of this Parish. Was godfather Joaquim da Silva, paternal uncle and godmother Narcisa Francisca paternal aunt by proxy which was presented to us by Francisco da Silva brother of the godparents of Rosto do Cao (Sao Roque). Were witnesses Jose de Sousa and ----- de Sousa married of this Parish and to let it be known I dew up this entry on the date above mentioned. Quickly that is the best I acn make of it. This one gives me new names of paternal uncles and paternal aunts (nice to know) but then, I can't decipher what it says about the godmother and some relationships.Here's what I can read of Manuel da Silva, son of Jose da Silva. I found that Jose was baptized in Sao Roque, Rosto de Cao...Got birth certificates of his other children; but having trouble reading those.After it has the priest's name it goes downhill for me: something about the Madrinha and I can't understand her name, whether it's Vari? it could be the letter N not V.- Naries? Francisca, tia paterna, solteira, tia paterna por joruonoas??? ises mas podentao Francisco da Silva, irmao dos madrinhos do lugar de --- Just not familiar with the terminology enough to guess at it.
