Hi Matt:
>I've traced my da Ponte line back to my 6th great-grandfather Domingos
da Ponte, born in Povoação (N.S. Mãe de Deus) in November 1726, son of
Martinho da Ponte and Suzana de Medeiros. Any of these names sound
familiar?
While I don't have any info (yet) in my databasein the 1700's, I DO have quite
a few Da-Ponte's in Maia in the 1800's. I have just gotten more info on the
family that will probably take it back further but....unfortunately, at the
moment I have it "packed up" to take with me next week when I go to Florida for
the winter...I live in Ohio and I HATE cold weather....:-(
Anyway, a soon as I get "unpacked" I will check it out and let you know if we
DO, in fact, have a connection...:-)
In the meantime.....have a great day.....:-)
Elizabeth
