Repost for George Sullivan:
<<My name is George Sullivan and I joined this website a few days ago and
don't quite know what to do with it. I am working on family history and my
mother's maternal parents were from the Azore Islands (Pico and Faial). I
would like to try to go back a generation or two and once I have more
information, I would like to go to the Azores and see what traces of family
(if any) are still there. My great-grandparents were Albert Roderick
(probably Rodriguez originally) and Marion Goularte and they emigrated to
Provincetown, Ma. in the early 1880's. Can you perhaps give me a suggestion
or two as to how to use this websit to help me in my research? I would be
very grateful for any help you can give.

Thank you,
George>>

Hi George,

I'll take over here....

You see I started your posting over again in its own thread. Not everyone
reads every message. Some follow only certain threads or topics. I titled
yours with your surnames and islands. Those researching those surnames and
islands will see your message now and if they are those who don't read each
and every message, they will be sure to take a look at yours.

Susan was responding to the topic about DNA and you responded to that. We
don't want your message buried in a topic/thread/discussion about DNA. So
when you don't have anything to say about the current
topic/thread/discussion, DON'T hit reply. Start a new email and address it
to Azores at googlegroups dot com.

In genealogy, it is best to list names, dates, and places (as much as you
know) to see if anyone else has them in their database. Overall, it seems
most people go back about 200 years before connecting on the list though.

Hope this helps!
