Hello George with the Irish name! I am sure you can claim a little more Irish blood than I can, as I have my Murphy name completely by marriage and am only of Portuguese descent. I have to say that if you can get a foothold on your Azorean ancestors as to what village they came from, the research is easier than it is in Ireland....at least that has been my experience!
If you have not checked out the Azores GenWeb site, that is under the direction of my good friend, Kathy Cardoza, you should study it as there are lots of good tips there: http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/azoresindex.html Under "Research Aides" you will find the topic of how to "get started" http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/tips.html As for this list....just hang in there as you can get a lot of good information from just lurking and reading. You never know when someone will ask something that might help you. If you have any questions about your research, there are lots of people here who are very experienced and can offer suggestions.
