Hi Katherine , I did not know of their claims which are unproven to date as many others are ... I was not pushing their view other than saying here uis another point of view on our past , take it with a grain of salt until all evidence to the contrary has been exhausted . If the research is flawed as you say , then it is on record as such and their article remains a fanciful story until proven otherwise ...
My intention was to put any interesting information even if it is an alternate point of view out for discussion purposes so that discerning researchers like yourself and others can provide commentary and direction of what is good or flawed with the conclusions that the authors have come up with . Genealogy research is still a new exciting tool with which to gaze upon the past ,,,,every year we find out more wys to interpret the findings ... All research into the past written history is at best a calculated guesstimate as not all information found in historical findings is complete . Most of what passes for History is written by the conquerors scribes and the conqured did not have many chances of writing their version of what happened to them or their people , so much of what passes for historical dogma is tilted in favour of the winner of any battle or occupation . I look forward to receiving any and all items related to our past history as every bit reported does have a morsel of truth contained within it ...if corroborating evidence can be found , then the value of what has been written including findings is much more valuable for us all , and myself as a amateur researcher, unfortunately the past has had its share of archive destruction either by the winners of any battles or natural destruction in fires & earthquakes or suppressed / changed by the religious powers that were in control to fit their mold of what was considered proper . The bottom line is that encouraging discussions on what is purported to be historical research is a method to enhance our knowledge of the past by inviting questions and hopefully better answers to the unknown as we strive to discover our very rich cultural heritage in the dust of time ... I look forward to reading more about our history , with all points of view presented ,to encourage discussion & debate . If the article has no grounds , then it can be disproved in a public forum . The intent to better understand our past with all points of view taken into account . History as recorded is ever changing and is rewritten as new archeological discoveries disprove what was held as Gospel , so we have to have open minds to other opinions and views if the research is proven to be done in the proper manner . The Gist is that we can learn something from all points of view to arrive at a better truth of our pre-history and history , this research combined with the DNA research should hopefull fill in the holes and give us a better picture of the past .
