I'm just getting started with my Azores research. The family is from Vila Nova (Praia da Vitoria), Ilha Terceira, Azores, Portugal.
I'm assuming Vila Nova is the parish and the town and Praia da Vitoria is a district or other governmental location. Help, please! Where is the best place to obtain sample records so I know what I am seeing on the vital records as I find them? What about general research tips on getting started?
