Maria S. Cardoso Our beloved wife, mother and avó passed away on December 8, 2008 at home in the presence of family at the age of 72. Maria was born on January 30, 1936 to Manual and Maria Borges in Fontinhas, Terceira, Azores. She moved to Tulare at the age of 29 with her son and husband. She was employed by the Tulare District Hospital. Maria was a loving mother, avó and sister. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Luis Meneses Cardoso; her only son Luis Manuel Cardoso and wife Regina; grandsons Luis Daniel Cardoso, Jake Cardoso and Chase Cardoso; sisters Benilde Fernandes and Maria Gaspar; brothers Maciel Machado and Valdemar Monteiro and wives; brother-in-law Joe Pamploma and niece Yvette of Terceira, Azores; brother-in-law Joe Toste and sister-in-law Maria Borges; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Manual and Maria Borges and her sisters Alina Pamploma and Vivilinda Toste; brother Manuel Borges; brothers-in-law Frank Gaspar and Domingues Fernandes. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2008, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, Ca. 93274 with burial at North Tulare Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
