Rosemarie While perusing the marriages of Norte Grande did you by any chance come across the marriage of John Sousa Avila (or Alameda) with Mary Conceico (or Anna)?
My grandfather was born 09 Oct 1869. I don't know for sure if he was the 3/4th son born. His older brother, John, was born 19 Mar 1865. His other brothers were Jose and Antone. They all used Bettencourt for their middle names, except Jose used the initial S. (Sousa). Sisters were named Rosa, Theresa, Mary & Barbara. I presume the mothers last name to be Bettencourt. Or am I reaching too far.... I am having great difficulty trying to read the records as I do not speak or read Portuguese. Thank you in advance for any and all the helpyou can give me.
