Charlotte
My great grandparents, Manuel Bento Farinha and Violante Carvalho,
with their family, immigrated on the Orteric, arriving in Honolulu on
Apr 13, 1911. I have a transcript of the newspaper notice describing
the voyage. There was a lot of illness and death and the article was
quite interesting. It is from the "Pacific Commercial Advertiser" and
was sent to me years ago by the Portuguese Genealogical Society of
Hawaii. If you would like a copy of this, I'd be happy to send it.
