Linda, Honey

I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner, but believe it or not, this old girl
nearly went to the other side.
On Friday, a week ago I had a heart attack and landed at Yale New Haven
Hospital where stents were inserted to relieve artery blockages. There is
still one that they were unable to reach, but they tell me that if I suffer
more chest pain there is a way they can get to it. I stayed in the hospital
until Monday when my daughter took me to her house for a few days. I'm back
home in Stonington as of late yesterday afternoon. Feeling good, up and
about but I won't know what my limitations will be until I see the
Cardiologist on Friday. In the meantime, the only thing that is driving me
nutsy is that I need to be on oxygen (although I'm able to go longer without
it each day". I feel like a tethered dog on a run.
My experience over the last week reassures me that taking the trip your dad
just took was wonderful. He is with you always..

Love,
Cousin Gaby

Thank you all for your condolences. I really miss my father and my mother
terribly, but the memories are there and will be cherished.

The priest who did the service mentioned about the ship at sea getting
smaller and smaller and disappearing, but never really gone because they are
on the other side that you can’t see. We will be on that other side someday
as well.

Linda

Death was once described to me by my late girlfriend as a ship nearing the
horizon then disappearing to "the other side". It may not be seen anymore
but it is there. However, it is still a tragic loss for the ones who remain
behind and I can feel your loss. May God bless and keep you and family and
one day we will all be together on "the other side" in the company of our
Lord....Ray Souza

My sympathy to you and your family. Your Dad is now at peace and without
pain. Remember the good times. Those memories always bring comfort.

My dad passed away Tuesday, March 3 from Congestive Heart Failure and CA. It
was a long battle for him, but he is at peace now and with my mom.

The turnout at the viewing was incredible with cousins that I haven’t seen
in years. There were Cabrals, Furtados, Pachecos, Raposos, Coelhos, Janieros
Oliveras, Medeiros, de Couto, Borges and Tavares. He was well loved and
adored.

He will be truly missed.
