Lucille, I checked my sources and there are a couple of Louis Ray Lema's b. ca 1898-99 and one Louis R. Lema with a wife Bella b. 1864 living in Napa County. NA 1908. b. Portugal.
If you can give me more info, where did they live; was Louis Ray Lema b. in the US; names of children, I might be able to help you with US records that might lead back to Portuguese records.
