Jesse P, It's pretty hard to work with living relatives who don't do genealogy.
I've had limited success. When finding a living person from another branch, I ask if they are interested in genealogy, and if not, who is the person in their family who does the genealogy. That is the person I go after. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
