Eliseu, I checked Ancestry and there are quite a few surname Janeiro from Portugal
US Passport Application: Marianno Correia Janeiro, b. St. Michaels, Azores, March 1, 1881. He emigrated to the US on the SS Dona Maria from St. Michael's on March 18, 1898 and has resided in the US from 1898 to 1903 in Fall River MA. He intends to return to the US within 6 months. (You should be able to find him on Passportes somewhere between Jan 1 and March 18, 1898, Sao Miguel to find out exactly where in Sao Miguel he is from). There is also a Manuel C. Janeiro (might be the same person.) July 23, 1901, Antonio Correa Janeiro sailed from St. Michael to NY. He is going to Fall River, MA to join his son Marianno Correa Janeiro. There is a Belmira Viveiros Janeiro who came into New York on the SS San Miguel sailing from Ponta Delgada on Sept. 26, 1946. She is leaving her mother Mariana Augusta Vieira-Remedios, Bretanha, Sao Miguel. She is going to her husband Manuel C. Janeiro, Newburgh, NY. Next to her name is an Humberto Ferreira Silva 16, and it says he is leaving his grandmother Francisca M. Janeiro, Relva, St. Michael. He is going to his mother Maria Lidia C. Silva, Bristol RI. There is also a Manuel Baptista Janeiro and his mother Maria do Rozario Baptista Janeiro from Ribeira Grande. They are leaving her grandfather Augusto da Costa Celestina(o)? Rua do Vencimento?, Ribeira Grande. She is going to her husband Jose Correa Janeiro, State St., Bristol, RI. She is travelling with Jose Pacheco father, 53, and Maria Augusta Pacheco 59, they are going to their son in law Jose Correa Janeiro. Some Janeiro's arrived in NY April 9, 1897. You should find them on Passportes also. There are quite a few that came from Lisbon. Do you have a specific person you are searching for? You can access many of these yourself since it looks like many of them came into NY. Go to to www.ellisisland.org It is free to join and access this information.
