David: My gggrandfather, Jacinto da Costa immigrated to Sandwich Isles aboard the Abergeldie in 1883. His father was Manuel da Costa. His mother was Laureanna Joaquina. Jacinto was married to Mariana Luciana, who went by Luciana on their passport, which was from Matriz. Jacinto was from San Jose, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. They lived on Alegria Street. Maybe a cousin or brother or descendent of some of your family? I do not have a copy of the passport but would like to get it and other documents when the Azores site has them. The children who immigrated with them: Manuel, Maria (my ggrandmother), Paulo. It's a long shot. Let me know if anything clicks.
