Dear Arline,This is a very nice translation. I know Bernardina's surname was de Chaves. This is one of my great grandfather's older sisters. I know my grandfather and grandmother were third cousins and I am looking for the connection. The godparents being a brother of the father and the sister of the mother might be of some help.
