The passport # 388 on line 730: I'd guess her name to be Maria Izabel, dau. of Mel (abbreviation for Manuel with the "el" raised) Something Furtado and Francisca de Jesus. Maria is single, 11 from Lagoa, Agua de Pau (gee, that's awful writing), occupation left blank, and a ditto for going to America.
The passport # 389 (the Correia family) Line 731: Manuel Correia, son of Mel (abbrev. for Manuel) Correia (it looks like Sousa) & Something de Jesus, married, 32, Lagoa, Agua de Pau, occupation "trabalhdor" (my spelling is off - he's a "worker"), going to America. Line 732: Maria dos Anjos, dau of Mel. Pacheco Something, & Cherubina de Jesus (unsure on the Cherubina part), single (this could be a mistake, it's clearly not the same "c" that they use for casamento - married), age 33 (I think), Lagoa, Agua de Pau, occupation domestica (housewife), going to America. Line 733: Jose, son of Manuel Correia and Maria dos Anjos, single, age 4, Lagoa, Agua de Pau, occupation left blank, going to America. Line 734: Manuel, the Portuguese word for ditto for the parents, single, age 1, Lagoa, Agua de Pau, occupation left blank, going to America. I wouldn't think that the other person from Lagoa, Maria Izabel (passport 388, line 70) is Manuel Correia's daughter. If he had another child that he brought with him, that child would be on the same passport with the rest of the family. I would guess that it's just another person from Lagoa. They probably went from Lagoa to the passaporte office in Ponta Delgada together. Perhaps they were neighbors. Perhaps Maria Isabel's family heard that Manuel Correia was going to America and they asked him to see her to America where so- and-so would take over from there. I do see a lot of people from the same freguesia grouped together sometimes. They probably all got up and stood in line together.
