This weekend (May 22 - 23) is the San Diego hall's 100th anniversary of
Espirito Santo. For researchers near the San Diego area, you may be
interested in attending: http://www.upses.com/

The Artesia band (the one John Vasconcelos and I perform in) will be there.
Our obligation on Saturday evening is the procession to the church about
6:30 pm, then the rosary is prayed, and then we march back about 7:30 pm.
Our concert is at 8 pm. Sunday is the main day. We line up for the parade
at 9 a.m. I think the parade starts at 10 a.m. Mass is 11 a.m. The march
back is supposed to be 12 noon. Sopas will be served after that while other
band concerts and folklore dance groups perform. Our performance is at 3:30
pm. All these times are approximate and generally get goofed up.

Artesia wears light blue shirts. Any band member (well, except the little
kids) know who John and I are. Ask a teenager or adult with the light blue
shirts. I play flute and piccolo, John plays trombone. In marching
position, I am behind the cymbal player. John performs in concerts only.
