Since I descend from Pedro's brother, Nuno, I assume it is the same ancestry for him. I have read and reread your attachment with my limited Portuguese....filling in words with my dictionary as needed. However, that has it's drawbacks. I'm wondering if there is a translation available for this document or if anyone could tell me how to translate it on line....or best yet, if one of our native speakers could translate it for us? I was disappointed when I saw John's correction to Dona Violante's ancestry because I am very intrigued with being related to Madragana and her history......but alas, not through this line......perhaps my " da Sousa Pereira" line. Regardless, now that I see what is a possible connection to Urraca...Queen of Leon and Castilla, by her father, Afonso Vl, I'm hoping the connection to her is valid. Earlier this year I read a biography of her......she was quite a woman and added territory to the lands she inherited from her father. Her life was very interesting and she had not only great determination and stamina but was also great passion! I like that and hope I'm reading this document correctly.
