Hi Michelle, Many thanks for all your help. Unfortunately I don't believe this is the Pedro do REGO in my husband's line. He married in 1899 [ if the 1930 census is correct]. However I did find that wife Margaret is listed in the 1920 census but in 1930 her name is Maria R. Her death notice in 1937 lists her again as Margaret [Grace] REGO.

The Priest that married them was A.G. S. Neves. His age is 25 on this record so that would put his DOB at 1874. The record has his name as Pedro do Rego. Yeah...found his first marriage too. May 11, 1895 in New Bedford. He married Margarida Arruda (both living in New Bedford). His age 22 and her's 21 & both from Sao Miguel. Again, father shown as "Unknown" but mother is shown as Anna I. G. this time. Priest that married them was G.S. Mesquito. His name on the record is shown as Pedro de Rego. If you need information the spouses let me know and I'll get that for you. I have been searching for the names of his parents to no avail. I have the following from various records here in the states. His draft Reg Card New Bedford, MA states he was b. 10 Jan 1874. His name on this record Pedro do REGO. A conversation with the priest at Our lady of Mt Carmel, New Bedford, MA confirms his birth as recorded on his son John's baptism record as Santa Cruz, Lagoa, Sao Miguel. His parents name not listed. He emigrated in 1895 and was naturalized in 1904 according to the 1920 census New Bedford, MA. The Naturalization records on Ancestry.com shows he was naturalized 25 June 1905. He was living in Fall River at the time. It also confirms his date of birth as 10 Jan 1874. It does not give his date of arrival. His death record 21 Oct 1942 New Bedford, mA., states -names of father & mother CANNOT be learned. I have his marriage date and the information on all his children. Unfortunately I DO NOT read Portuguese and current problems with my eyesight makes it even more difficult to try to read the records now available from Lagoa that are on line. Should anyone run across this name I would very much appreciate knowing what the record says.
