Hi Eric,

That's a D for divorced as clear as day on the 1930 census. Tells you what
my brain wanted to see. Thanks.

Did a little more searching on Margaret. After her marriage license was
posted in the NV State Journal on June 11, 1943 in Reno to Roy S. Brown, I
found her in the 1946 Reno City Directory. She was listed as Mrs. Margt.
Brown. Further down the page was listed Roy S. Brown (Olive). So it looks
like they divorced too.

Hemet is 100 years old and they are doing a book. I've finally got my dad
writing a story and he even drew a map. I'm submitting these stories. Jack
Mello was the last kid and he wasn't interested in apricot ranching and went
up to Sacramento and did roofing and then later went to Reno and did some
roofing and then worked on the highway where he was killed by a drunk driver
in 1965. Since Jack was in northern CA or NV, my dad didn't see a whole lot
of him. My dad heard stories about him though. One was he got married and
then divorced and it was a very brief marriage. I think his marriage was to
Margaret Lema, because there's only 1 Jack Mello in Reno in the 1940s. So
if this is the right Margaret, I'd like to get the marriage info for my
records.

Thanks,
Cheri
