Ahnenetafel is the standard way. You are 1. Your father is 2 and your mother is 3. Your grandfather is 4 and your grandmother is 5. The father of your grandfather is 8 (double it) and his wife is 9. That's Ahnentafel, but it's easier to see Dick's explanation. I think the system you are speaking about is the* *d'Aboville Numbers<http://www.eogen.com/dAbovilleNumbers> . It's similar to the Henry system. I'm not a fan. It means the 5th kid of the 6th kid of the 2nd kid of the 4th kid of the 2nd kid of the 1st kid of the 9th kid. So do you want a 10th kid? Or are you asking for one of the kids of the 9th kid?
