Hi Georgianna,
It’s Celeste, Bob’s (Seraphine & Lena’s son) wife.
It looks like you have a lot of information and that can lead you farther back
in your ancestor search.
>From the information you sent to the list, it looks like your father’s
>ancestors were born on the Island of Graciosa. I am pretty sure the village is
>Luz (from what you put as birth and death places.
Since you have birth and baptism dates, it looks like you have baptismal
documents that tell you the date and where a person was born or died. If the
baptismal documents for Graciosa are like those for the other islands, you may
have more information. For most time periods, the baptismal record lists the
place of birth for the child, parents and paternal & maternal grandparents.
The archive that has the records for Graciosa more than 100 years old is in
Terceira. I do not believe that records for Graciosa are yet on line. However,
you can write to the archive; list the person’s name, date and place of birth &
baptism, and the parents’ names. If you already have the document, you will
probably have to have someone read the Portuguese and write a translation in
English (I had to do that).
So….for each birth/baptism, you have 3 generations of names and places from
which they came (if they were not natives to the village where the child was
baptized).
I am happy to help you with your search if you contact me privately we can get
together and see what we can find.
Celeste
