My cousin (not on this list) sent me this.  The surname Aranheiro was found
on a tombstone.

<<What do you think the possibility is that Aranheiro is a misspelling of
Laranjeiro, a parish in mainland Portugal?  When Laranjeiro is spoken by a
Portuguese person could an English speaking person be hearing Aranheiro?

Is the "L" possibly a silent or almost silent character, and does the "J"
sometimes carry a sound similar to the letter "H"?>>
