If you Google "Hamburg Hamburg" and click on the Wikipedia site, you will find that Hamburg is a city in the state of Hamburg, Germany. I have done bit of research in Germany because my grandfather was German and insisted that his family of 5 children spoke German at home. Many of my relatives live in Germany or came from there. In 1937 the cities of Altona, Harburg and Wandsbek merged into the state of Hamburg. Hamburg is one of the 16 states of Germany. Therefore writing Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany is officially correct.
