Suisun, Fairfield and Vacaville, are in the Sacramento Diocese. Suisun is closer to Fairfield in my opinion. Current Parishes in Fairfield are Holy Spirit and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Current Parishes in Vacaville are St Joseph and St Mary. There are no parishes listed for Suisun. Since the parish no longer exists, their records may have been relocated to the Diocese Office in Sacramento. Their contact information is: Diocese of Sacramento Pastoral Center, 2110 Broadway, Sacramento, CA, 95818. Phone: 916-733-0100. Web address:http://www.diocese-sacramento.org This might be a good starting place to find the records that you are looking for. Good luck Mary Ann In a message dated 11/16/2010 5:34:22 P.M. I recently found the delayed birth record for one of my relatives Frank Joseph Vieira, and it stated that original certificate of baptism was from March 8, 1885 from St. Alphonsus Church in Suisun, CA. Upon finding this information out, I started to search for info on St. Alphonsus Church but have come up empty for the most part. I did find that it was established in1860, but the parish apparently does not exist anymore so I was not able to find out any other information. What I was really hoping to find was the marriage record of the parents of Frank Joseph Vieira. They are Frank Vieira and Maria Faustina. I know that both of them were from the Azores but different Islands. I think he was from Flores and she was from Sao Jorge. They were probably married around 1884. I am not even sure what parish would get the records when they closed down. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected].
