Lisa, Just go to the Archives of this list and search Sephardic Jews and I think it will answer your questions. Also, google Azores Sephardic Jews. I believe there are many of us on this list who are also Catholic and more than likely have Sephardic Jewish ancestry somewhere. Proving it is another matter. A good book is The Cross and the Pear Tree - A Sephardic Journey by Victor Perera (this is the correct spelling - no i). Although some people, I think question some of his writings, it is a good start.
