Sam, I wonder if we are related. My great grandfather was Francisco Silveira da Sousa Coelho. This is the first time I have seen this name on this site or anywhere, for that matter. All I know about him is he was born some time in the 1830's in Graciosa. He died in 1870 He had four children with his first wife, name unknown: Frances, Manuel, John and Franciso. He remarried Maria Candida after his first wife died and they had Mateus Coelho, who was my grandfather.
