Sounds similar to the remodel in Los Angeles - that the film area is smaller and computer area bigger. Nice to see technology, but computers and the Internet are the tip of the iceberg. There is still A LOT on film, in libraries and archives, courthouses, etc.
Eric G, the films should be numerical. Maybe the U.S. Census might be in its own area or cabinets, but after that, they should point you to the other films. 000001-001000 would be labeled in drawer (for example) and it should go up from there until you find your film number. I hate when the crank doesn't catch. It just spins. And I've had to stand up at times too. It's a shame that the readers aren't kept up. It's going to be quite a while still before "everything" is online. And in reality? "Everything" won't be online. They (GSU/LDS/FamilySearch) didn't film "everything." Madeira passaportes were filmed. The Azores were not.
