if you are writing about Oakland...the readers, all of them, are still there. As long as I've been going to Oakland,, they sit in rows of 8 readers. They all had been the old type of readers , black and much smaller than the new larger readers, The reader section remains as it has always been. The computer section has been enlarged with more computers , and different tables for these computers. `As for the films, there are drawers and drawers of Azores films. One large wall is lined with drawers. One has to know the film numbers, of course, to know where the Azores films are stored. The Mormons have a reading room , FHC, or whaterver it is called in Fremont. It is not listed on the Mormon site nor is the one in Santa Cruz.. In past years I knew of several who left Oakland to do their research in Fremont. Is there anyone out there on this list who can tell me the address of this place, and the hours, and also the type of readers there. The readers would have to read Azorean films or the researchers would not have left Oakland. Eloise In a message dated 4/16/2011 11:11:01 A.M. I have heard that there are films from the Azores there but each and every time I go there... no one can direct me to them. I don't know if I would know what to look for in there if I did find them for now... The room is now a vast array of computers... all updated and nice. They changed the lighting in the room and it is a nice update. But again, many of the readers are gone.
